Nw Nickerie market
The New Nickerie market in western border district Nickerie is small, cozy and entertaining. Apart from Surinamese, a number of Guyanese from western neighbor Guyana offer their goods – six day per week.

The fish department, at the bank of the river Nickerie, is daily supplied with a variety of fresh river, sea and swamp fish. A Variety of fruit and vegetables are colorful stacked by the sellers and loudly advertised.
As in the supermarkets, a wide range of goods are offered. Stalls selling religious products lacking either.
